RINGGENBERG
Ringgenberg village on the northern shores of Lake Brienz is a charming little village with typical alpine chalets. The village is part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites and its castle ruins and church is a must-visit. Ringgenberg is just a short distance from Interlaken and Bönigen. It offers good access to the water, a hotel and a restaurant and also great transport links with trains and the ferries making it possible with your own equipment to do a one-way trip along the lake to Brienz or overnight before continuing along the other lakeshore.
Kayaks, canoes and SUP-boards can be hired from Bönigen, short paddle away from Ringgenberg.
Transport Options
Bus: Ringgenberg is served by the number 102 and runs to Interlaken Ost and Interlaken West half hourly at :08 and :38 taking 12minutes.
Train: Connects Ringgenberg with Interlaken Ost and Brienz. The Journey to Interlaken Ost takes 5mins and leaves hourly at :19 and in direct Brienz takes 18mins and leaves hourly at :36
Ferry: To & From Interlaken Ost, Bönigen, Iseltwald, Giessbach & Brienz
Parking: There is parking up the hill at Ringgenberg Castle and limited parking at the Hotel Seeburg for hotel and restaurant guests. If you have your own boats it’s possible to unload and access the water from her and later park a the top of the hill
On the Water
Launching: Right by Hotel Seeburg, it’s possible to launch right next to the ferry landing. Another option is further along by Ringgenberg Camping au Lac.
Important: In Ringgenberg we also need to keep an eye out for the ferries by the landing.

THINGS TO DO
RINGGENBERG CHURCH & CASTLE
Ringgenberg has a church on a hill next to the lake shore with amazing views of the lake. Church was built on the ruins of a castle in the 17th century. The castle dates back as far as the 12th century and if you have a head for heights you can climb to the top for free and are rewarding panoramic views of the lake and mountains.
RINGGENBERG CLIFFS
On both sides of Ringgenberg you find stunning cliffs towering above the turquoise waters on the Lake Brienz. These are definitely worth exploring and there are also lots of places and little beaches which are only accessible from the water and where you can get out from your kayak or SUP-board and take a break and have a piknik, go for a swim or jump in.

Set in a former mill dating from the 1800s, this beautiful family-run hotel on Lake Brienz is beside the Ringgenberg ferry dock, just a 7-minute walk from Ringgenberg train station. Exceptionally peaceful setting with a garden restaurant with views to the lake. The restaurant serves international cuisine and Swiss specialities.
